The Grande Dame of real estate courses celebrates 1,200 graduates

Vienna University of Technology celebrates its 30th anniversary in real estate education

The Austrian real estate industry met on October 15th, 2019 in the Kuppelsaal of the TU Wien to celebrate the institution which has been responsible for the education and training of its specialists and executives for 30 years. Students, alumni, lecturers and traveling companions from business and research agreed on one point above all else: the TU Wien is the "place to be" when it comes to real estate-related teaching or continuing education.

In her opening speech, Rector Sabine Seidler emphasized the ambition of the TU Wien "to ensure the best further education in Austria's real estate sector". "In order to continue fulfilling this (not very modest) aspiration, it is up to the high-caliber speakers, the continuation of the close cooperation with the business community, a highly qualified advisory board and the constant development of the curricula".

Prof. Martens, Dean of Studies for Continuing Education and Course Leader of the real estate courses led through the evening. At his opening speech, he thanked the guests of the anniversary event, who were a lively mix of lecturers, graduates and current students. In addition to their studies, the regular continuing education and networking events of the Continuing Education Center and of ImmoABS, the association for real estate graduates of the Vienna University of Technology, have been significant benefits for years, according to Prof. Martens.

Before the unofficial part of the evening, a few awards were still on the agenda: The CEO of ImmoABS Dr. Ing. Birgit Trofer drew Carmen Dilch, dr. Ernst Karl Hauswirth, Alexander Ertler and Johann Kaiser with the honorary presidency of their association. Elisabeth Rohr, as Secretary General of CEPI (European Association of Real Estate Professions), presented Austria's first CEPI certificates for the European Professional Certificate (EBA) for Real Estate Agents & Property Managers to Emilia Mouhu and Kevin Dzieza.

Afterwards, the invited guests had the opportunity to network with each other and toast to the time they had spent studying while listening to music, a cabaret and enjoying the food.

Here you will find impressions of the event.
